this is a commission
she was inspired by my first repaint seen here:
[link]

the customer wanted a likeness to ariel and color changes to tail and subtle details.

a former "school's out" 2011 lagoona blue. tail has hand cut scales and accented for added realism. red mohair and hand made eyes surrounded by realistic lashes. her base has real seashells, starfish, sand dollar & sand :D

Wow, this is air dry clay??? Every time I use an air dry clay it crumbles and/or cracks eventually. Yours looks really resilient. Is there something you are doing special or a brand of clay you could recommend? I would be much obliged.

Sometimes mine cracks and I just go over it with fresh clay to fill it in. I use DAS air hardening clay...and once all my details are done I seal it with liquid polymer clay that has to be dried using a heat gun (the doll is protected during this process) or just a regular clear sealant you paint on...hope that could help :)
what kind of ADC do you use?

 thank you!
I sell mostly all of them on eBay and it just depends on what the buyer wants to pay for a piece.
I sell my mermaid commissions through Etsy.com @ $120 + shipping.
Or if a seller is looking for something specific I make a custom listing just for them on Etsy as well after a discussed price.

That's awesome! I'd love to buy one of them someday! I've loved the little mermaid ever since I was a kid and your interpretation is great. Keep up the amazing work!

I love the movie too and a plethora of disney films. I hope to create some "princess" inspired ones in the future :)
